(running for "better" and identifying to bodies, things, and forms is the best way to lose oneself and never be satisfied)
Because we are constantly evolving and identifying to one thing is not an accurate representation of who we are. (I'm picturing the stereotypical goth teenager... but as he grows up, what if he doesn't like goth anymore? That can be an identity crisis for someone who associates too much with the surface/object world.)
RépondreSupprimerTrue! That's a concrete example you expose.
RépondreSupprimerAnd imagine someone identified to his car, if one day he had a slight accident and that his car is dented, even if concretely he himself is safe, he will feel he lost a limb because his car is damaged, and that's a totally useless, unreal pain, created and imposed on oneself by the ego, the identification to form.
RépondreSupprimerAnd imagine someone completely identified to his/her beauty, appearance, his/her youth, once he/she grows older that can lead to a loss of identity, self-hatred and suicide.
Groooovy!!!!
