When I eat while watching a film I feel that my concentration is divided between these two things and I do not obtain all the informations that I could; Once again if we really want an effective learning of an ability or some knowledge, all our senses must be focused on a single task at a specific moment, during the maximum time that we can keep our concentration.
I think we can not focus on two things at once, our brain juggles focusing alternately on one thing; when you do several things at the same time as in this example, it creates breaks in the understanding and learning of each task, the perception and therefore the recording of informations is therefore not optimum.
You're right, the brain gathers the most information from focusing on one observation or task at a time. Watching television with dinner is multitasking, something that seems so normal and expected for our generation. But if one were to turn off the television, he would be more likely to experience the taste of the food more vividly. I know when I eat while watching films or reading I become distracted and almost detached from my senses and can accidentally overeat or consume something I wasn't hungry for in the first place.
RépondreSupprimerI hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but you reminded me of how you said that you invest everything in one person. You said you give your all to one person, which is why you don't like communicating with many friends.
I can understand that, you're very observant and throughtful. You give your full attention to the things that are important to you.
The information becomes a memory.
